Here’s my Mermay inspiration project for Dr.Digi , created using the stamp Cuddly Critters Hippo four times, lol. You never see their legs do you? That’s cos they have tails! Why am I doing this madness?? Read on!
Our Dr.Digi Mermay Challenge runs from 1st–31st May, with winners announced on 1st June. To join in, simply take any Dr Digi stamp and give it a mermaid-inspired twist—just don’t use the actual mermaid stamp (She is called Rolling in the Deep!)
The Design Team will be sharing their inspiration in the DT Mermay Inspo Album on Facebook, and we’d love you to add your own creations to the Mermay Crafters Album in the Dr.Digi’s Crafters FB Group so we can see them all in one place. You can also enter via Instagram—just tag #DrDigisMerMayhem.

Here is the Cuddly Critters Hippo Stamp before I gave it a Mermay Twist!
And here he is after! I just took the top part of the stamp and pasted it four times (swapping it’s angle, mirror image etc) and then hand drew some tails. Then coloured it with Polychromo Pencils. I added some detail with white posca, and then coloured paint pens on the tail, plus some real glitter on the front wave!
I have coloured him once before, in a more serious manner, do you want to see that version too? He is a super cute chap!
To make up my card I just used the Bubbles Backing Paper Set . I also used some purple paper for layering and some bling from the stash.
