Hibernating Hilda

This is defo my vibe for 2025 so far! Napping under a blanket with my cat George. This digi is Hibernating Hilda from Dr.Digi’s House of Stamps.

This is what she looks like in the shop

So I did something different this time. I used two of the downloadable backing papers from Dr.Digi and inserted them into areas of the digistamp before I printed out my topper to work on. The image below is what I printed out before I started to colour with polychromo pencils. I printed it directly onto Kendal Manilla Buff so it’s very much toned down on my version, it would really pop on white! I suppose it’s traditional paper-piecing technique, only electronically.

The two papers I used are Paw Prints and for her pillows, Retro Rainbows.

I used my pencils to add shade to the patterned areas and attempt to make them look softer and more like fabric. You could spend longer editing the patterns to get an even more realistic end result, but I wanted to make a quick card this time!

For my sentiment I used one from the Nap Sentiment Sheet and then coloured it in! I also added some highlights with white posca pen. My background papers are from the Sunny Studio Classic Gingham Set, cos I had them already out on my craft desk! 🙂

Thanks for joining me again, on yet another, alternate Friday of the month! I appreciate you reading this far! Looking forward to posting something new and interesting soon!

  1. Fabulous, my friend! That’s me these days…without the cat though, or the dog. Oh, and maybe change the tea to coffee, and no Netflix either. Take all that out and it’s me! lol I love it!

    1. I also have to swap the tea for a coffee, and you wouldn’t see the cat cos he likes to be under the blanket, also my hair never looks this tidy! lol. Thank you Nancy 😀
