Hello!

My name is Eekers or Annabel, depending on whether you know me online or in real life. I am a full time Crafter, Artist, Colourist and International Spy.

I was always the kid that was happy with a pen and a piece of paper, (It was much cheaper to entertain children in a world before Ipads). I would badger my family to name random things for me to draw and have, ever since, spent my life observing things in detail so I could draw and colour them from memory later. My colouring odyssey started with oil pastels and I wind-milled through many mediums (not supernaturally) until I hit on Polychromo pencils. I really hope to keep discovering new things to learn, being creatively stagnant fills me with anxiety.

I’ve always been interested in wool crafts too, though I am an abysmal crocheter/ hooker, a very novice needle felter/ stabber and a randomly tense knitter/ knotter. About ten years ago I began to make (far too many) knitted potato-sack-shaped cats to sell a craft fairs. However, my artwork gained more interest than my knitwork and I found myself needing to colour far more than knit. Whilst I quit doing fairs, outdoor events with horizontal sleet eventually put me off, I made a lot of good friends during this period of my crafty life, and these friends pushed me to embrace being a colourist.

I create from very green and rural Shropshire in the UK with my partner, George the Cat (Unfortunately Bertie his brother passed away in 2023) and a tank of fish. Time zones constantly baffle me. I used to fit all my craft stash in one plastic tub behind my sofa, now I’m a full time crafter with a very full craft room – Konmari just doesn’t seem to understand the problems of craft hoarding, lol! I will always have too many projects in my “to do” pile, I want to try ALL THE THINGS and I’ll get to them eventually.
