Stained Glass Christmas

Sharing something different today for my Dr.Digi Design Team Slot! Some paper-pieced stained glass windows! 😀 These are the three SVG Christmas Glass images! Unfortunately I am useless with cutting files, but it’s easy to convert them into something printable instead!

Initially I printed the 3 images onto 12 sheets of coloured paper to make the three cards above. I did myself a little crib sheet so I could work out how many colours I would need, and what kind of shades may work. I think I used another 3 sheets afterwards, as sometimes the pattern didn’t work out, or the colour wasn’t right etc. When I had finished these three I had quite a lot of useable bits left so…

I made three more with the remaining bits and I’m not sure if I don’t like them more! Obvs I had a lot of spare baubles, so this Christmas tree got a bit bedecked! lol! (Also is it just me, or does this remind you of the old kids tv programme “The Adventure Game” a bit? )

Here is what they look like in the shop. Just download them, open them in your browser, screen capture the image and save them as a jpeg to use them like I did.

I cut out all the sections and then put them back together like a jigsaw, Actually it wasn’t speedy, but it took me a lot less time than colouring 6 Christmas cards would take, lol!

I mounted them onto black cardstock and decided to remove the hangers at the top of the image and just pierce a hole in my card blank in almost the same spot, then I added ribbon from my stash. I have ALOT of ribbon, please can we bring ribbon back to the trendy side of card making? lol. I then popped on some stickles glitter glue and glossy accents to highlight certain parts.

Thanks for joining me for something different! I was a cardmaker along time before I specialised in pencil coloured CAS cards, so it was nice to get back to basics and just do some cutting and sticking! 😀
