I know you are already gutted that you missed it, but October 31st is National Doorbell Day! Which is just the tenuous link I needed to do a whole load of background techniques in just one lesson. Oooo and we can make a cute New Home card too!

In this lesson we cover 3 textured backgrounds, handy for mocking up your own adhoc backgrounds for any character stamp you want to use, and also four new ground coverings, so you can add paths and grass and flowers and pebbles and….to give any stamp somewhere to stand, which can be the finishing touch to any coloured stamp!

In the lesson we then make up a matching stencilled card base for our cards (New Brick and Wood Stencil created for the class here) and there are some tiny little “for sale” signs to add to complete the New Home Card too! The class also contains a number of sentiments to use with the houses if you want to add some more text to the front of your version. If you want to see what tools are needed for the class, you can always see a list of the materials and the pencils I use for the class. (You may need to create a free account to view class details, no cost for doing that bit!)

Here is the pencil recipe I used for this lesson –
All of these pencils apart from 173 and 267 are in the standard 24 Pencil Polychromo Tin.
Straw House – 101, 104, 107, 109, 177, 180, 187
Wood House – 101, 109, 177, 180, 187, 190, 274
Brick House – 101, 107, 109, 177, 180, 187, 190, 199, 219, 274
Ground/Grass – 101, 107, 109, 120, 168, 173/267, 177, 180, 187, 272, 274

So if you are keen to take part you can get the lesson for £18 ($20) individually, or less if you subscribe. That will give you access to the old lessons too for a cheaper price too!
Thanks for joining me for much chatter on pencil classes and another Zany Holiday post!
