Thank you Ma’am

Stamp Anniething has released this lovely free digi called “The Queen and her Corgi” to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth. Colouring it up was a lovely way to think about her and share being grateful for her service.

Obviously I added another Corgi, as she had two (as well as two other dogs, a Dorgi and a Spaniel) at the time of her passing. She was also responsible for the breeding of the “Dorgi” which was a Corgi and Dachshund mix! Her Corgis are called Sandy and Muick and have been rehomed within the family.

To matt and layer the image (which is on Kendal Manilla buff) I used papers from the Welcome Spring 6×6 Paper Pad and the Spring Surprise 6×6 Paper Pad.

I like it when people have their own sense of style, and stick to it! She really did, I think she possibly stuck to her guns on most things though! I like that she was a no-nonsense kinda Queen. Though I understand this appeared rather uncaring at times, she was rather behind a wall of tradition and establishment too.

I think it’s possible to thank someone and feel sad they have passed whilst also recognising that their reign, and what that stood for, might be a bit more complicated than when a normal Nan passes away. She was still someone’s Nan though, and that’s always a sad loss.

And if you haven’t listened to the My Nan, Your Nan song that Greg Davies sang at the Royal Variety Performance, in 2018, directed towards the Queens Grand Children, I’ll just leave this link here.
