April Class Release!

I know, I know, it’s already the second week of May, what have we been playing at?? I am sorry, I am geographically unfortunate and live 4000 miles away from Ann (owner and artist at Stamp Anniething) and the postage system really hated us this spring. We design our classes together including the stencil to go with this class and I couldn’t finish making the course without it. Second parcel eventually reached me, and I got the class finished the day it arrived! I promise there was no slacking, just bad postage karma! We are deciding ways to avoid this in the future, we defo want to be on time. Anyway…. without further ado….

Here is April’s Annabel’s Zany Holiday Class – Sending Positivi-Tea! The Holiday we are celebrating this time is National Bubble Tea (Boba Tea) day!

If you can’t view any of the links to my course, or the course info, you may need to create a free account at the Color Youniversity site.

This month we are doing a bit of fur colouring again, some monochromatic colouring of the boba-tea girl (swimming in the bubble tea), some shiny ball colouring and some simple light reflecting on the clear tea cup!

This class has a very reduced colouring palette, only using 132 beige red polychromo pencil that is not in the original 24 pencil tin. For this class I mainly used polychromo pencils –

101, 107, 109, 115, 177, 187, 190

You can look at all the pencils I used and products in the materials list for the course. The information is available before you sign up! You do not NEED all the other items to enjoy the course, if you have similar pencil colours you can definitely enjoy the large colouring portion of the class, and I am sure could use a normal stash to get a similar background! (I also show an example of another background I made which would be possible with other “drink” based stencils of stamps.)

Included with the materials list is a list of substitute pencils if you are using prismacolours rather than polychromos. It’s an approximate match. Not all pencil skills translate between oil and wax pencils. If you use wax pencils, layering the colours I suggest works well, but the heavy handed mixing between layering sessions might work a bit differently with wax, go gently instead! The fur however works very similarly with wax pencils, in fact it can look better!

I know, who doesn’t need a light up boba tea lamp? 😉

As normal this course is $20, (or $15 if you subscribe) and you will get the digital stamp and a code to use in the Stamp Anniething Shop on items I used in the class, this time it will cover the new Boba Stencil and the 3 hybrid inks I used. You can use another brand of ink, but the SA inks are what I used!

I thought it’d be cute to combine our bubble tea with a tiger lid to celebrate that 2022 is the Year of the Tiger too! I think 2022 is also a water based branch, so the year of the Water-Tiger, which seems especially fitting! Colouring fur takes a bit of practice, so I am hoping to include bits of it in classes so you can keep tackling it whilst your general skill level improves. Once again it’s a “layers and practice” thing, like a lot of pencil skills! *yawn* lol!

Thanks for joining me on today’s blog post! I try to cover some answers to the questions I get about my classes, but if you have any more I am always happy to chat about it! You can reach me on instagram at cartway_cards or you could email me eekbob1@hotmail.com . You are also welcome to pop me a message on FB if you are part of the Stamp Anniething Stampers Facebook Group, but send me a friend request first, so I can see your message when you send it!
