Had a super book for Christmas, called Atelier Collage by and artist called Seiko Kato, who makes amazing collaged images that I would love to have the skills to emulate. This book is full of projects to cut out and make yourself, with lots of guidance on how to assemble them. I like tortuous fussy cutting and pretty slowly worked through most of the book creating the pieces.

I used the majority as backgrounds in one of my printer’s trays, but a couple were quite compact and very pretty so I thought I would make them into a couple of cards, which I lacquered afterwards.

I used some musical score behind this one, I wasn’t too sure what kind of background to put behind the assembled pieces. It does take a while to cut everything out, but apart from the birds feet, it was pretty easy!

I used some stamps to make a distressed background behind this one, but the ink slightly stained the lacquer so it all looked a bit more aged than I intended!

I gave these to my Mum and Brother at Easter, with some packets of sunflower seeds to grow. I think my Brother used his on the front of a note book like a cover.
