Hi All, this is the blog post that goes with my Facebook Live happening in the Stamp Anniething Stampers group at 5 p.m. EST today. I will pop a link in it to the recording if you are seeing this after the live has happened.
Link to the live is here! You will need to be a member of the facebook group for this to work!
In todays live I wanted to share some ideas for using the scene builder stencils from Stamp Anniething with pencils and pastels!

So the image on the left is done using a pastel background, and the image on the right I did a layered polychromo background. The pencil background is far brighter but it took a very long time to blend it, and the blending isn’t great, pastels was much speedier and a nicer smooth result! Also the finished surface was really nice to use polychromo’s on
The two builder stencils I used are Ocean Builder Stencil and Tiki Hut Builder Stencil.
For my pastel background I used Derwent Pastel Pencils. White, Magenta, Violet, Ultramarine, Prussian Blue and Cyan. I think any chalk pastel brand would work fine.
For the Polychromo parts I used, 101 White, 154 Light Cobalt Turquoise, 156 Cobalt Green, 139 Crimson, 160 Manganese Violet, 129 Pink Madder Lake, 123 Fuchsia, 157 Dark Indigo.
If you have differing media, it’s pretty much white, pink, purple, dark blue and light blue
I am using Kendal Manilla Buff Cardstock.
I made up my pencil background into a card also featuring the Calliope stamp.

Calliope is also coloured with polychromo pencils on kraft card. I added some spots of white posca pen to her and my background. The sentiment also comes with her. This is what the stamp set looks like –
And here is a close up of my version of Calliope 🙂 I still working with iridescence etc so I tried one idea on her tail. I always have personal colouring missions going on, sometimes being experimental pays off, but not always, lol.

I added some stickles to her tail and some sequins from the stash to the card. She does come with a matching die set, but I didn’t have that bit. She wasn’t too tough to cut out though 🙂

Thanks for joining me at my live, if you did, thanks for popping to look at my blog post, which you certainly did if you are reading this! I hope you can try out the colouring on a pastel background it was really fun to colour on the texture!
