So this was a commissioned card for a dog loving 70 yr old man! I wanted to try stencilling through a stencil too, so to start, the 3×3 circle grid is a homemade stencil. I did my first ink layer in greeny distress oxides through the circle stencil. I then used various stash stencils with amber distress oxide over the top of that circle stencil, so you can only see the patterns in the circles. So double layer stencilling!
Once I had finished with the stencils, I left the circle stencil in place and stamped in black Versafine some dog images from the Apple Blosson Crafts – We Love Dogs set and the Lawn Fawn, Critters at the Park set.
I had already made some tiny yellow tennis balls for another project so used the remaining few as additions to this card. I recoloured the thick cardboard numbers and added glitter and I printed out the word “today”. I wasn’t happy at this stage so added some small frames to some of the circles and that seemed to fix the issue!
