All great birthdays feature lego.

I loved playing with lego as a child, it seems a lot of other people do, and still play with it as adults. Admittedly some of the bigger sets require considerably more skill to assemble than the old kits I played with as a kid! I reckon I would still enjoy it just as much now. Here is a commissioned card I made with a lego theme.

I used spray oxide inks for the background and then used my homemade lego stencil to add the little men.

Here is a close up! I had to add a bit of a black outline to the lego men, it’s obvious this close, but it wasn’t particularly on the card. It just made them a bit tidier! Out of the spare bits of the background paper I used a small circle die to make the balloon, then used fine metallic twine to make the strings.

I use a die to cut the stars and added some spare balloons and a black star to the inner, so the easel front would have something to rest on.

If I can I like to theme the envelope to match. I have a large kids lego sticker book, so I grabbed some of them to add to the flap of the envelope!

Another catch up post! It’s nice to share some of the cards I make as commissions. I often don’t get round to it because I can’t post them til after they have been passed to the recipient and by then I forget to do it! I always try and do things immediately cos my memory is pants!
