Better late than never?

I haven’t been very good at blogging all the cards I have made for personal use and for customers. I tend to focus on my Design Team makes, not the other stuff! I’ve made a list of all the projects I think are missing, and I hope to give each one a brief moment in the sun. Keeping a historical record of what I make is super useful for me, being able to look up an answer to “What did I make for their birthday last year?” is always a relief!

So this is very new make, a christening card for a great customer.

My initial idea was to make a small soft coloured image surrounded with a large elaborate white frame. I don’t think I have achieved it before now, die-cut frames are normally a bit fiddly for my short attention span, but the Spellbinders Nobel Rectangle Die is a good and quick cutter!

Lili of the Valley are still my “go to” company for sweet baby and christening stamps. This digistamp is called “Sweet Dreams” and it was also kind of the right shape to fit in the window of my fancy frame die! I coloured this slowly and softly with polychromos, I never normally colour things small, or on white, so it was a bit of a challenge.

I raided my stash for ribbons, flowers and pearls, I have tonnes of that stuff even though I rarely make cards anymore that use them. So this was a break from my normal style and a learning curve! Already full of ideas to improve this card formula. Do you like white on white things?
