C is for Cookie Part II

A second post about my “C is for Cookie” class at Color Youniversity!

First Post is here!

I just wanted to share with you some more photos and details of the finished Cookie Monster card I created during the class. I thought a circular easel card would be interesting with a circle theme and the circle shaker! And obviously a lot of the class is how to colour his fur! 🙂 Apologies to anyone who has issues with googly eyes, they make me lol! I have some HUGE ones, not sure what to add them to next… maybe my front door, lol.

I have just finished typing up a guide to all the pencils I used during the class ( All but one from the Polychromo 24 Tin – the odd one is Beige Red) so you can prep all the pencils in advance for the course on the 7th August. (or later if you join the class later on.) I have also included some alternatives if you have Prismacolor Pencils instead. A couple of crafty friends asked if the course would be ok if they didn’t have polychromos, and yes, it is! The fur technique works as well with other brands, though you’d need to swap the blending technique to the appropriate way to blend your brand of pencil. Polychromos can be physically mixed, a bit like paint. Soft layering might work better with non-oil-based pencils 🙂

If you want some more idea of what you need to take part in the class, and what elements will come in the kit, there is lots of info on the course listing, and participants will be emailed extra info before the course starts.

It’s soon going to be the final chance to be sent the full card making kit and take part in the official course day of the 7th August. But if you don’t read this til later, or can’t make the 7th, you can always watch all the course segments later, at your leisure.

I wanted to include some extra special elements for my project. The shaker elements are pretty fabulous (I used cookie monster and cookie sprinkles with some sequins from my stash in mine) but I also thought it would be cool to find my old shrinky-dink supplies and make a cute charm to embellish the card. We go over how to make it all in the class. Shrinkies are great fun, and as you probably have a heat gun, really easy to make!

Before popping my card in my finished cards box (Well boxes, I can’t pretend to have the amount under control, lol!) I used the stamps to add a bit of interest to the envelope I had to fit the project!

On the 7th the team will be about all day to answer questions and help out with any probs you might have, but everyone is very friendly and you are always welcome to chat about your colouring and projects. 🙂 Add me as a friend on facebook if you want to pm me directly 🙂

I just wanted to make sure everyone who might be interested got the opportunity to find out as much as possible about the course and how it works. I am really excited for it and I hope it’s enjoyable and a fun, positive event to lift these times of Covid gloom! 🙂 Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 7th!
