Such a Player

Hi All! It’s a Stamp Anniething day today and I am sharing the chess themed birthday card I made for my SO 🙂 He is a big chess fan and I was super excited that Stamp Anniething has a stamp and stencil that I could use for his card! This is Liang Checkmate and the Chess Stencil.

My SO might be a player in the chess sense of the word, but not in the other sense, I hope, lol! I decided to do a black and white theme, apart from the kraft card, I just forgot to stamp it out on white, such a fail, lol! As normal I used the SA Birch Hybrid Ink so I could do a no-lines style colouring.

I added some brows, so he looked a bit more like my SO. 🙂 I used a white posca pen and a black micron pen in a few parts.

I really love the chess stencil, I did some black on white and some white on black and then matched them up for my background layer. I used the SA hybrid obsidian ink for the black, and Hero Arts Unicorn White for the white.

Just got a new Dymo machine, so thought I would add a greeting with that, fits my black and white theme, and the other sentiment is from the stamp set. I also added baker’s twine, black ribbon and gems from the stash.

Thanks for joining me today! It’s my SO’s birthday tomorrow, and he doesn’t want me to tell people how old he is! lol.
