Hi again! This is the third card I made for the latest edition of Making Cards Magazine!
I made three cards using the Dad Set from Dr.Digi’s House of Cards! You get £29.50 ‘s worth of digital products for just £15! So many combos in it for “Men’s” cards as well as Father’s Day!
For this card I used a blue version of the Moustache Paper and the Sports Fan Dan digistamp. Recipe for making it below! Sentiment is from the Father’s Day Sentiment Sheet.
Recipe for this card –
Base: On the PC add blue Moustache Backing Paper to a 17cm x 17cm square. Resize/Crop to fit. Increase saturation if want to make it bluer. Add black edge to top, right and bottom, leave left hand side without border.
Print square onto 300 gsm card and cut along black edges. Score the fourth edge, leave 3 cm strip just on that side and fold over forming flap. This makes the front of card blank. Cut another piece 17cm x 17cm plain 300gsm card to form back. Tape/Glue together using the 3cm tab.
Topper: On the PC make a topper image (16 cm x 16 cm) using Sports Fan Dan digistamp and sentiment from Father’s Day Sentiments Sheet. Resize elements to fit.
Make digistamp paler.
Add an edge on the topper before printing to make it easy to cut out straight.
Print out topper directly onto Smooth Kraft Card. Also print on the same A4 sheet the digistamp once again, at full strength to use as a guide when you colour.
Colouring: Colour in Sport’s Fan Dan with Faber Castell Polychromo Pencils. Colours I used below but you can colour him to match any team!
Add highlights to eyes, shoes and cool box with White (0.7 mm) Paint Pen.
Clean up any smudges and pencil dust around your image using an eraser.
Using a white pencil give Dan a surface to stand on and add some grass behind him, then colour over that white with greens and browns.
Sparkle – Colour the “#1” white. Add small spots all over it using fine paint pen or gel pen. Then add a few spots of red (121) as if reflecting the glove colour. Make a few “+” shapes at random using gel pen. In the centre of each of these use paint pen to make slightly larger spots.
Final stages – Cut out topper. Using corner rounding scissors or a punch, take off the two left corners. Using 3D foam place topper onto card. Add red star sequins to finish.
