Hi everyone! I am sharing the second of my cards that are in this quarter’s Making Cards Magazine! It was a special two page spread with some Father’s Day inspo.

I made three cards using the Dad Set from Dr.Digi’s House of Cards! You get £29.50 ‘s worth of digital products for just £15! So many combos in it for “Men’s” cards as well as Father’s Day!
For my second card I used the digi Dad Dancing, which is also available separately in the shop! I also included a sentiment from the Beer Sentiment Set, slightly modified. The backing paper is a recoloured version of the digital Moustache Paper set. I love how easy it is to convert digi-papers in to exactly what you need!

Because I made this for the magazine I can share with you a complete card recipe for making this, here goes –
Dad Dancing Card Recipe.
Base: On the PC add any of the Moustache Papers to a 17cm x 17cm square. Create stripes by recolouring diagonal selections across the square. Add black border to the top, right and bottom edge, leave left hand side without a border.
Print square onto 300 gsm card and cut along black borders. Score the fourth borderless side, and leave a 3cm strip to fold over to form a flap. This makes the front of card blank. Cut another piece of 17cm x 17cm from plain 300gsm card to form back. Tape/Glue together using the 3cm tab.
Topper: On the PC make a topper image (15 cm x 15 cm) using Dad Dancing digistamp and sentiment from Beer Sentiments Sheet. Resize elements to fit.
Make digistamp paler.
Add a border on the topper before printing to make it easy to cut out straight.
Print out topper directly onto smooth Kraft Card. Also print on the same A4 sheet the digistamp once again, at full strength to use as a guide when you colour.

Colouring: Colour in Dad Dancing digistamp with Faber Castell Polychromo Pencils.
Sketch in a checker board floor surface to make a lit dance floor also using Faber Castell Polychromo Pencils. Colour in bright colours and add dark corners with 199 black pencil.
Add highlights using White (0.7 mm) Paint Pen on shoes. Add shine on glasses with White gel pen.
Clean up any smudges and pencil dust around your image using an eraser.
Sparkle – Colour all the blue squares of the dance floor with 101, 120, 127 and 199. Then add small spots all over the centre oval using fine paint pen or gel pen. Then add a few spots of blue (151) as if reflecting the glowing colour. Make a few “+” shapes at random using gel pen. In the centre of each of these use paint pen to make a slightly larger spot.
Cut out topper.
Using 3D foam place topper onto card
Print out text from PC or use label maker to create additional sentiments. Cut out longer sentiment and 3D foam mount into top left hand corner. Cover over “Beer” with 3D mounted “Father’s” not completely obscuring it.
Glue on Gold and Red Stars around the digistamp.

If you interesting in the pencils I used to colour this, here they are. These are Polychromo Pencil colours.
