Stamp Anniething Officially with Rosa Parks

Hi everyone! Very excited to be making my first official DT post for Stamp Anniething! Well it’s actually my live today but I thought I would make a quick post with some photos to accompany my video! 😀

In case you didn’t know already, it’s Black History Month and Stamp Anniething has two awesome free digi’s to honour two heroes, Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks! I really wanted to look at Rosa, and do some learning before I coloured her. What a phenomenal and inspiring woman. Here is a brief overview about her in case you haven’t connected her name with her enormously famous gesture before now –

This is the card I made using the Rosa Parks digistamp! And I am demoing the techniques I used to colour her head in my Live today at 5 p.m. EST! (Pencils take too long to cover a whole body in an hour, maybe I will get speedier with time!) You can watch the live after the event also within the Stamps Anniething Stampers Facebook Group.

The digi comes with sentiments too, here is a look at just the stamp –

And here is a close up of my colouring of just the chibi!

I will pop the colours I used for her, shoulders up, here in case you want to use them for your own colouring or inspo –

Also these are the stages I followed for the skin –
  1. Base Layer of White.
  2. Soft Layer of Burnt Ochre all over, darker on the shadow side and around the edge.
  3. Layer of Venetian Red in all the darkest shade areas.
  4. Blend all three colours with Beige Red. Add in White for highlight areas.
  5. Add Walnut Brown to all the areas of deepest shade and blend that out with Venetian Red.
  6. Blend most of face gently with Burnt Ochre. Blend with Beige Red on the white/pale areas. Re-add Venetian Red to warm up areas that look faded.

I hope if you joined me for the live you enjoyed it! I still feel very nervous and new to it all, wonder if that feeling will pass? lol! Obviously I did more to make the card including finishing my colouring.

I added a flower to her hair and some green gems around her, and then used my only bus stamp (From Artemio) to stamp some green bus paper! Didn’t have any in my stash, quite surprising, lol! I also matted and layered with some sparkly green paper that is instant bling! The set comes with two sentiments so I made an inner using the other sentiment in the set –

I am defo going to send this to one of my strong and supportive friends. We all need Women to inspire us to be strong and be better! ❤

Remember both MLK and Rosa are free stamps, you can download them in the shop right now!
